Innovation Day Reflection

Hello my name is Micah and I am doing a reflection on my innovation day project with my friend Matthew. This project was about electricity circuits. Our project was called drop down bowling. You would basically roll a clay ball and try to get it in the hole to complete the circuit from all the wires connecting into a tissue box with the battery holder.

Before we started presenting, I felt a bit nervous because I really wanted to do well, but I felt confident that our project was a good one. We ended up achieving 82%. I was happy with that mark, however, there were some things I could have done better. What I learned about myself was that  I need to put in the effort in order to get a good result. 82% shows that the effort was definitely there. Usually I don’t put in the effort and get mad that I didn’t do well, but that’s on me. What I could’ve done better would have been to spend more time on the details rather than the actual writing. For example, one of the comments about our presentation was that the writing was too small. I felt good about the way we presented together and actually worked to complete our project. One of the challenges was that we live far away from each other and we mostly worked on the project during school.

To my surprise I actually really enjoyed working on this project. I enjoyed working with Matthew because I feel we work well together. I was happy with my ability to present because  In past years, when I did have to present I was nervous and shy. Over the years, I have developed more confidence doing public speaking and presentations like this. Overall I had fun and looking forward to coming up with a better idea next year.
